Visa Information

Who needs Visa


As a general rule citizens of countries not participating in Shengen agreement are required visa to visit Poland. 
The 26 Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. If you can visit any of the above countries or have a visa for one you can travel to any other.
Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus and Romania are not technically Schengen countries but the same rules apply. However a visa from any of these four(4) countries may not allow you to enter the Schengen area.
Exceptions are the countries with visa-free movement agreement with Poland. 
Visas are not required by visitors from the following countries for visit up to 90 days in a 6 month period: Albania, Andorra, Antigua & Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominica, El Salvador, Georgia, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Montenegro, New Zealand, Nicaragua, North Macedonia, Palau, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Samoa, San Marino, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, St Kitts and Nevis, Taiwan, Timor Leste, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Vatican City and Venezuela

Type of Visa


For traveling for conference the “C” type visa is required. You can apply for it in embassies or consulates of the Republic of Poland in your home country. You can find their addresses on this page: https://secure.e-konsulat.gov.pl

Invitation Letter


One of the documents that will be required in the application is an invitation letter which can be issued by conference organizers. The invitation letter serves as confirmation that conference registration has been completed and, if applicable, that the full fee payment has been received.

Please be aware that the organisers have no influence on the visa application process or the adjudicator at the embassy or consulate. Actual visa issuances cannot be the conference's responsibility. We cannot appeal the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' decision should your application be rejected, and we will not speak with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Embassy on the applicant's behalf or interact with them. Individual processes take different amounts of time, therefore you should start your application as soon as you can.
